Course summary

GCE A Level History - Edexcel Exam Board With this course over two years you will study a range of Modern Historical topics. In your first year you will cover ‘Searching for rights and freedoms in the 20th Century.’ This involves a study of the USA in the 20th century, with a focus on a number of groups ranging from minorities to the Presidents. To accompany this, we delve into the lesser known past of India under the British Empire. We follow the dramatic tale of India’s quest for independence from 1914-1948, involving famous historical figures such as Gandhi and socio-political turmoil in the fall out of World War Two. In the second year you will undertake a coursework investigation based around Historical debates that surround Nazi Germany and the Third Reich.
