Course summary
This course will expose you to the exciting world and history of Drama and Theatre. It is designed for young people who are passionate about Drama and Theatre and for those who might be the actors, directors, playwrights or theatre practitioners of tomorrow. This course will enable you to analyse, reflect, perform, produce and respond to plays, performances, and dramatists. Through extensive practical workshops, teacher led theoretical sessions, regular visits to the theatre, devising and performance you will be exposed to the discipline of Drama and Theatre Studies. This course will give you the opportunity to explore different theatre styles and to develop a thorough practical and theoretical understanding. To succeed in drama and Theatre Studies you should be able to perform, create theatre, write about what you have studied, work with others and have the capacity to improve your own learning and performance.

Entry Critera: Grade 6 or above in GCSE Drama or Grade 6 in English if you have not studied Drama at GCSE. You will need to be available to attend an audition; this will consist of a short learned speech from a published play of your own choice.
