Course summary

It is impossible to understand the present without understanding the past. The events, individuals and processes that have shaped society through time must be studied in order to bring our modern world into clear focus. History is the study of these through investigation, enquiry and evidence. The skills developed and honed in doing so: analysis, interpretation and argument, make A Level History one of the most sought after qualifications by Universities. As part of the AQA History course you will study some of the most important people and turning points in British and European history: the English Revolution and Russia and its Rulers 1855-1964. You will also have the chance to indulge your own personal historical interest through an in-depth study of your own choice.
