Further topics are introduced including: energetics, kinetics, redox reactions, group 2 and 7 elements and more organic chemistry. Many of these topics are developed further in year 2 with some new areas including: acids and bases, transition metals, and organic analysis and synthesis. This course provides a good foundation for students who wish to study chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacy, dentistry and many other science related courses in higher education.
