Applied Science
St Edmund's Catholic Academy
Course summary
Applied Science is an interesting and exciting subject. The specification content will require pupils to acquire a large amount of factual knowledge, which can only be achieved through independent learning. Pupils are expected to read around the subject and should spend at least 4 hours per week on consolidating their knowledge outside the classroom. It links directly to jobs that Scientists do in hospitals and industry laboratories. This course includes assignments, controlled assessments and examinations. The course is specifically designed for students that have an interest in vocational science but prefer a more coursework centred assessment.
