Join the Global Academy Sixth Form and study our unique industry-focused and creative Esports Production course. As well as studying for a much-coveted UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology (Esports Production) – during your two years at Global Academy – you could cover the following creative, production and business focused skills and knowledge: Graphic Design, Branding and Marketing of your team, tournaments and projects in real life and on Twitch Video Production using Studio Camera Operation and Handling Events Management Script and copywriting Game Strategy Professional Social Media in Esports The Esports industry is rapidly growing with the market expected to expand to $2billion dollars by 2023. The transferable skills required to be successful in the industry are numerous, including having good teamworking skills as well as a good insight into team strategy, but also entrepreneurship and production. The types of tournaments which may feature during your course include Rocket League, Overwatch 2, Valorant and League Of Legends. The type of projects which you’ll do during the course could include: Setting up Media Channels (Twitch and Youtube) for Live Streaming with Branding Merchandise Design and Production Pre/During/Post Game Commentaries Producing live gaming events and tournaments Marketing your esports team The assessment of this course is 100% coursework based and can include presentations, reports, written assessments and individual and group tasks. What qualification will I get? Students taking this course will receive a UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Esports Production – which is equivalent to 3 A Levels. The course offers up to 168 UCAS Points. Our partnership with the University of the Arts, London (UAL) and employer partners like Global– enables us to offer a rigorous and challenging curriculum that kick-starts the career of young people whatever their background or experience. Alongside our brand new Esports course is the opportunity to join our new Esports team at Global Academy. During the course – you and your classmates will compete in the official British Esports Championships – a nationwide tournament of students representing their schools & colleges in Esports competitions on games such as Overwatch, League of Legends and Rocket League. This will take place each Wednesday afternoon and is an exciting opportunity to both study and participate in Esports at our unique industry-focused college in West London. What are the entry requirements for this course? To be considered for this course – you will need to achieve 5 GCSEs at 4 or above (including English and Maths) as well as demonstrate a passion, dedication and interest in business, entrepreneurship and the creative industry during your interview. Familiarisation and interest to learn current eSport games such as League of Legends, Valorant, Overwatch and/or RocketLeague are also recommended.
