
Drama and Theatre Studies allows students to pursue their interests in both the practical and the design elements of theatre. Students will cover historical, political and social elements of theatre as well as exploring practitioners such as Berkoff and Stanislavski. The study of set texts teaches students the intricacies of making theatre from designer and director. The units are as follows: • Written exam: study of set plays and a live theatre production. • Creating devised drama. • Performance of three extracts, with at least one based on the work of a practitioner. CAREERS Studying Drama develops vital skills, and opens up a broad range of potential careers. As a Drama student, you’ll gain specialist skills in performance, interpreting texts and script analysis. You will also acquire technical theatre and directing skills.
