Further Mechanics 1 Momentum and impulse, work and energy, elastic strings and springs , elastic collision in one and two dimensions. Decision Mathematics 1 Algorithms, graphs and networks, route inspections , linear programming and critical path analysis. CAREERS Maths is one of the best subjects to develop analytical, research and problem-solving skills. Maths supports the study of subjects like science, engineering, IT, economics and business. Studying maths alongside essaybased subjects can also help keep your options open. Maths A-Level is a must for degrees in: physics, engineering, actuarial science, economics and, of course, maths (you may also need further maths). It is recommended, sometimes required for computer science, accounting, sciences, medicine/nursing, dentistry, business, finance, architecture, geology, psychology, and even philosophy at university. A-Level maths provides a firm foundation for all scientific, technical, engineering and mathematical careers and a flying start for many others, the list is endless.
