Course summary

Our History (Political, Social, and Economical) is being transformed as we speak and with it new needs are emerging and new skills are becoming essential. Now, more than ever the knowledge of a foreign language is paramount in our society, especially for young people. The A Level course is taught over two years. What will you learn? The program of study includes the following topics: -The changes in the Spanish society (Social issues and trends) -The political culture (through Media) and artistic culture, Festival, Music, Traditions) of the Spanish speaking world -Immigration and the Spanish multi society -The Franco dictatorship and the transition to Democracy -Literature and Films. Students studying at A Level will require 5 or more GCSEs graded 9-5 or A-C. To study Spanish at A Level you will need at least a grade 4 in both English and Mathematics, and a grade 6 or higher in Spanish GCSE. The A Level is divided into three skills: -Listening, Reading and translation (Paper 1: 40% of qualification) -Written response to works and translations (Paper 2:30% of qualification) -Speaking (Paper 3: 30% of qualification)
