Why take the course? The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) equips you for university, developing a range of skills that other A Levels may not, such as critical thinking and research methods and techniques. Students are given the chance to research and study a topic of their own choice, beyond the confines of the A Level syllabi, and explore areas of interest and excitement. Summary of what is studied (specification) You will learn essential skills such as how to manage large scale projects, how to be time efficient, how to research, how to be a critical reader and thinker, how to write and format extended essays, how to reference accurately, and how to resent research findings to an audience. Where could this qualification take you? The EPQ provides you with the skills required for any university degree course, ensuring that you thrive as an undergraduate. Many universities use the EPQ to provide a lower entry tariff for their most competitive courses, or use it as a factor when deciding whether to make you an offer.
