Geography
Course summary
The A Level allows students to study a combination of scientific Geography alongside human interaction in preparation for their further studies and careers. A Level Geography has been designed to give students the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to become engaged global citizens. The physical systems engage learners in the landscape and the earth’s life support systems. Human interactions explore the nature of places and how they change over time. Future Proof Geography is highly valued by universities as an A Level choice. We support students through their applications to university and have successful Oxbridge applicants as well as students going to other top universities including Durham, Exeter, Leeds and St Andrews. The study of Geography complements other subjects as well; this is reflected in the variety of degree courses and careers that students have undertaken in recent years, such as medicine, architecture, accountancy, teaching, law, civil engineering, American studies, logistics and the police. Other careers linked closely to Geography include urban planning, meteorology, commerce, travel and tourism, surveying, Civil Service, health service, overseas development and overseas aid organisations.
