Course summary

You will develop an understanding of the German language in a variety of contexts and genres and be able to communicate confidently, clearly and effectively. You will be given the opportunity to explore the spiritual, moral, ethical and cultural dimensions of Germany and German speaking countries. You will develop an understanding of the contemporary society, cultural background and history of countries or communities where German is spoken. You will be able to research a subject which interests you and present it in the oral exam. Literature, History and Film play a prominent part in the course through listening, speaking, writing and reading activities. A trip to Berlin is also offered.
