Course summary
This is an exciting and innovative course which offers a fully integrated approach to the subject. Topics covered include stylistics, linguistics, narratology and creative writing. There will be a contemporary approach to the study of literary and non-literary discourses and texts with an emphasis on precise linguistic analysis. Core to the teaching are an understanding of views and genre in prose fiction, exploring voice and identity in poetry, discussing interaction and conflict in drama and the representation of place in anthology and non literary texts.
