Course summary

You will study the diversity of destinations which have produced tourism and the structure of the tourist industry. In particular, you will study the features of the United Kingdom and how it is an important destination in global tourism. You will gain a greater insight into this important sector which is particularly relevant to Brighton & Hove. A range of varied activities will help you learn the skills and content needed including group work, mind-mapping, presentations, research and discussions. Assessment is through four units of work, two of which are externally marked by the Awarding Body. One external unit is assessed by a traditional examination and the other is a set task. The examinations count for 50% of the final grade.
