A Level Computing provides students with a broad technical knowledge and the ability to write their own programs and software in the Java Programming Language – one of the most popular languages used in industry today. At AS students study 2 units which enable them to explore the fundamental principles of Computing. AS level Units: Unit 1: Problem Solving, Programming, Data Representation and Data Structure Unit 2: Computer systems and architecture
Students require a minimum of 5 GCSE at Grade 6 or above (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics.
Exam - you will be expected to sit the AS Level exam at the end of Year 12 and A Level at end of Year 13. At AS Level: Unit 1: 2 hour on-screen examination Unit 2: 1 hour written examination
