Course summary

Unit 1: Enterprise & Entrepreneurs Students study enterprise and the mind-set of entrepreneurs, exploring the risks, opportunities and constraints of starting an enterprise. Unit 2: Developing a Marketing Campaign Students will gain skills relating to, and an understanding of, how a marketing campaign is developed Unit 3: Personal & Business Finance Students study the purpose and importance of personal and business finance. They will develop the skills and knowledge needed to understand, analyse and prepare financial information. Unit 7: Social Enterprise Students research and develop an understanding of organisations trading for social purposes, gaining practical experience in planning and running a short social enterprise activity.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs, at grade 4 or above -including English and maths.

How you'll be assessed

Year 12 Unit 1: This unit is Internally Assessed via an assignment. Unit 2: This unit is Externally Assessed in May under supervised conditions similar to a Controlled Assessment in GCSE. Students can only resit once in January of Year 13! Year 13 Unit 3: This unit is Externally Assessed by a written examination set by Pearson that lasts 2 hours. Students can only resit Unit 3 once in May/June of Year 13 Unit 7: This unit is Internally Assessed via an assignment.
