
Is this course for me? Yes, if you have a passion for music and an interest in music performance, composition and appraising. Music A Level is considered a highly academic subject by universities and employers which makes this subject a good choice, regardless of what you intend to study at Higher Education or what career path you wish to follow. What will I learn? You will learn: • about important performance skills and how to prepare for a recital on your instrument. • how to compose and notate pieces of music following set briefs and using music notation software. • how to understand, appraise and analyse set-works from a variety of genres from music history including Rock and Pop. What could this course lead to? This can prepare you for a career in Music, Arts, the Media Industry or Education. Roles such as performer, composer, teacher; in music production such as producer, engineer, studio manager or sound engineer. Liaising with artists as a manager, a tour manager, working for the Arts Council in administration or as a music journalist.
Grade 6 GCSE Music or Grade 5 performance standard on at least one instrument.
