Additionally, it is a good choice for any student who would like to develop their creativity and production skills in a range of formats. The analytical, research and evaluative skills are useful preparation for any degree course. The best preparation for this course would be a good grade in either GCSE Media Studies or English (particularly the Media Unit) which demonstrates that you have strong analytical skills and creativity. What will I learn? You will: • Analyse a range of media texts including print based: advertisements, film posters, CD and DVD covers, moving image, film, television trailers, advertisements and music videos. • Plan and produce a range of media texts (as above) using still and video cameras and using editing software such as Photoshop and I-movie • Evaluate the effectiveness of media texts, including your own, using media terminology and theory. What could this course lead to?
