
The progression of the course has a number of different potential pathways to further study, as well apprenticeships. It also supports progression to health and social care related degrees as well as non-specialist areas. The qualification is intended to carry UCAS points and is recognised by higher education providers as contributing to meeting admission requirements to many relevant courses, for example, nursing, social work, physiotherapy, occupation therapy, speech therapy, teaching.

This course can be assessed in three different qualifications: Certificate in Health and Social Care The equivalent to one A Level, 4 units of work (Two exams) Diploma in Health and Social Care The equivalent to two A Levels, 8 units of work. (Three exams) Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care The equivalent to three A Levels, 13 units of work. (Four exams)
