An understanding of criminology is relevant to many job roles within the criminal justice sector, social and probation work as well as Sociology and Psychology. This qualification has elements of Psychology, Law and Sociology that complement studies in Humanities. Together with other relevant qualifications, such as A Level Psychology and Sociology, it develops the understanding to support entry to Higher Education courses in the humanities sector.

Unit 1 will be internally assessed via an electronic controlled assessment. Unit 2 will be assessed externally via a 1 hour 30 minute exam at the end of the year. Unit 3 will be internally assessed via an electronic controlled assessment. Unit 4 will be assessed externally via a 1 hour 30 minute exam at the end of the year.
