UNIT 1: Body Systems and the effects of physical activity. UNIT 2: Sports coaching and activity Leadership. UNIT 3: Sports Organisation and Development. Optional additional units: The Optional Units are: • Performance analysis • Organisation of sports events • Biomechanics • Physical activity for specific groups • Nutrition and diet for sport • Sports injuries and rehabilitation • Practical skills in sport • Sport and exercise psychology • Sport and exercise sociology
A merit in Sport Studies and Grade 5 or above in a Science
Mandatory units are assessed via exams. These are taken throughout the two year course. The remaining units are internally assessed via coursework tasks. Tasks take on a variety of assessment forms, including: written reports, presentations and practical activities.
