The course comprises responding to a theme in the form of sketchbook and portfolio studies worth 60%, and an externally assessed examination worth 40%. Students have the opportunity to work across a broad range of materials and approaches including painting and drawing, printmaking, sculpture, life drawing, oil painting, mixed media and computer aided design using Adobe Creative Suite. Students will gain the opportunity to develop an extensive design portfolio using both digital and traditional disciplines. They will gain the skills to research and develop exciting innovative design ideas, fulfilling brief outlines and developing their confidence to present their work in a professional environment. This will have a hugely positive impact on opportunities to study a broad range of creative subjects at university level.
