
Qualification Code 6031333X Mathematics and Further Mathematics continue to be highly respected qualifications at ALevel. Students are required to learn and understand a range of topic areas in Pure Mathematics including algebra, calculus, trigonometry and geometry. The resources we use in the department allow students to access a range of interesting and challenging problems to fully prepare them for the examinations at the end of Year 13. The students also study Mechanics and Statistics content which will build on their GCSE knowledge including use of the kinematics formulae and probability set notation. Sir Joseph Williamson’s Mathematical School is the hub school for Mathematics in Kent and South East England; we also have strong links with the Advanced Mathematics Support Programme. Hence we will be at the forefront of the new curriculum. We are proud to have a team of experienced and dedicated Mathematicsstaff who will deliver the new course content to allow all students to make the best possible progress and build on the outstanding results in both A-Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics which we have achieved in recent years.
Grade 7 or higher in GCSE Mathematics Five GCSE grades at 5 or higher, including a 5 for English An average GCSE points score of 5.5, or better if studying 3 A Levels or 8.0, or better if studying 4 A Levels
