Course summary
Every waking moment is influenced or captured in our media-saturated environment, from TV to social networks and mobile apps. Your critical awareness of how the media is used to communicate and depict the world we live in, as well as how it is used for enjoyment, will be unpicked and enhanced through the study of AS Media. You will interact with a variety of media items, including TV, radio, film, video games, newspapers, and advertisements. You will gain a deeper grasp of how texts are utilised to convey meaning to readers and engage audiences as each product is examined in light of a theoretical framework. In order to complete the course's practical component, students apply their knowledge to the construction of their own moving image or print product.
