Course summary

Through the study of a range of texts, theatre makers and live theatre, candidates will develop an understanding of how to interpret text for performance and analyse and evaluate performance alongside developing their acting and performance skills. Students will devise an original performance piece applying the ideas of a recognised theatre maker; they will perform three key extracts from three differing performance texts. In the written examination students evaluate a live piece of theatre, answer a question based on their practical exploration and study of a complete text, and explain their interpretation of another complete performance text. Candidates will explore all work from the perspective of performer, director and designer
