A Level German
Course summary
A Level German is an ideal course for those who wish to enhance their job prospects both in the UK and abroad in the increasing internationalism of the 21st Century. A Modern Languages A Level aims to encourage maximum use of the foreign language in all four skill areas. In addition to the allocated lessons, in which students develop a range of practical skills to enable them to understand and communicate in the written and spoken language, they also work individually with a foreign language assistant to develop confidence and fluency in preparation for the oral examination. The course will foster an awareness and understanding of the cultural, social, commercial and political background of the countries in which the language is spoken. Wider reading will be greatly encouraged as a means of gaining maximum exposure to the foreign language and enhancing cultural awareness and understanding in preparation for study at degree level.
