Economics is ideal for students who have an interest in the wider world. It is a subject that is concerned with the study of consumers, business and government examining current relevant economic and social issues from both a macro and micro perspective. Economics is highly regarded as a strong academic subject by both employers and universities. It combines well with a number of other subjects, developing both knowledge and skills relevant for careers in Economics, Business and Finance amongst others. The A level course covers the key areas of consumers, markets and business behaviour on a micro level as well as taking a broader, study of the UK Economy, its performance and policies along with a global perspective.
