Component 1 - Recording - Choose any song to record from a list of 10 artists set by the exam board 60 marks 20% Component 2 – Technology-based composition - Choose from 3 stimuli and compose your own piece of music 60 marks 20% Component 3 – Listening & Analysing – The listening exam is based on popular music from the 1900’s to present day 75 marks 25% Component 4 – Producing & Analysing – The producing exam tests students on their ability to produce, edit and put pieces of a song together 105 marks 35%
