In January of Year 12, you will sit a 1 hour 30-minute examination paper that accounts for 25% of your overall BTEC grade. You will also study the principles and practices underpinning personalised care and support. It's the foundation upon which all care disciplines stand, and you'll experience it first-hand. Take on four challenging task assignments, which reflect real-world scenarios in the health and social care domain. This unit will be completed at the end of Year 12, and is worth 25% of your BTEC grade. In Year 13, it's time to explore what it's really like to be part of the health and social care sector. Understand the roles, responsibilities, and the duty of safeguarding individuals with unique needs. Learn the importance of safeguarding sensitive information with utmost care, and tackle discrimination. January of Year 13 will be your moment to shine, with a 1 hour 30-minute examination paper that constitutes 33% of your overall BTEC grade. The focus is the care of physiological disorders. Discover the roles played by various professionals in providing treatment and care for service users. There are four task assignments, completed by May of Year 13, in which you demonstrate your understanding of physiological disorders and their treatment. The tasks are carefully designed to mirror real-world health and social care scenarios.
