Course summary

A-level Psychology promises all the crazy, enthralling intensity of the human mind. There is nothing else like it. Year 12 is your foundation, exploring cognitive psychology, revealing the intricacies of early childhood social development in developmental psychology, and unravelling the complexities of conformity and obedience in social psychology. You'll also gain insight into individual differences, the realm of abnormality, and acquaint yourself with various psychological approaches and research methods. Year 13 builds upon this foundation, allowing you to become immersed in topics like biological sleep rhythms and forensic psychology. You will also study mental disorders and further refine your research skills, whilst getting into the dynamic field of psychology in action, with a particular focus on schizophrenia.
