Chemistry GCSE grade 6 or Additional Science grade B (grade 6in the Chemistry exam unit) All students need to have at least 5 GCSEs at 9 to 5 including English at Grade 5 AND Maths at a level 4 (includes Level 2 Vocational at Merit or Distinction)
Method of assessment AS Level: 2 x 1hr 30mins exminations • Breadth in Chemistry (50%) • Depth in Chemistry (50%) A Level: 2 x 2hr 15mins examinations & 1 x 1hr 30mins examinations • Periodic table, elements and physical chemistry (37%) • Synthesis and analytical techniques (37%) • Unified Chemistry (26%) A wide range of question types including: multiple choice, short answer and extended response questions.
