
This BTEC is the equivalent of two A Levels and is run by music, drama and dance specialists. You will have a strong interest in a variety of strands of performance and a desire to improve each aspect. If you are looking towards a career in the arts industry and would like experience of working with a range of industry experts in and outside of the Sixth Form - developing your knowledge and experience, this course will suit you. This course is invaluable if you are looking to become a triple-threat in the arts industry and seeking work within Musical Theatre as an actor, dancer, singer or all three. You will be working in a largely practical manner, but journals, blogs. logs, working diaries will need to be kept. Time will be spent, exploring, devising and creating both individually and as part of a group. Research projects and live performance will also form part of your assessment. You will design, create, rehearse and perform a range of material, for a range of audiences and for a range of purposes. Working in a largely practical way, you will use your creative skills to perform within school, to the community and at external venues, enhancing your performance and presentation skills. This career area includes working as a performer in dance, drama, music. Jobs in arts administration, community arts, music technology and theatre technology are all careers our alumni have gone into.
